Taylor Scott
Taylor Scott is the 17-year-old lead guitarist and vocalist for Another Kind of Magick. He has been playing music since he was nine years old, which is when he fell in love with rock ‘n’ roll. Later, Taylor discovered a love for the blues, and began to fuse the two styles in his music after seeing B.B. King play in 2007. His playing now is a fusion of all blues styles, with a hint of other surrounding musical genres as well. Of course, here and there, you can still hear his love for guitarists like Hendrix in his playing. A few of his many influences include Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, and B.B., Albert, and Freddie King. He also draws from many vocal influences such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Taylor spends most of his time working on all aspects of his musical career. He also plays music in the church, and attends Cheyenne Central High School where he is a junior.

Louie Uribe
Louie Uribe, the bassist in the band, is 17 years old. He has only been playing bass for a few years, but his talent says differently. Like Taylor, his love of music began with rock, and progressed to become focussed on blues as well. Louie has been influenced by numerous musicians. A few of his favorite bassists include Klaus Voorman, Booker T, Geno Skaggs, and Jo Jo Garza. Louie recently discovered an interest in other forms of art, such as drawing. He is also active in the church youth group, and is a junior at Cheyenne Central High School.

Evan Scott
Evan Scott, 15, is the keyboard player for Another Kind of Magick. Brother of Taylor Scott, Evan enjoys much of the same music. His influences include Elton John, James Kirk, Jim Pugh, Otis Spann, and Pinetop Perkins. Aside from playing the keyboards with the band, Evan also sings back up vocals. He is the lead singer in the youth band at the church he attends, where he plays alongside his brother, and occasionally the other boys from Another Kind of Magick. He is in tenth grade at Cheyenne Central High School.

Mike Uribe
Multi-talented fourteen year old Mike Uribe was originally the rhythm guitarist for Another Kind of Magick. However, when the band lost their drummer(s) on two occasions, Mike took a seat behind the kit, where he currently resides. He is the brother of Louie Uribe, and has been playing guitar and drums for several years. Mike has many influences, seeing as he moves around to different instruments frequently. Some of his favorite drummers are Sonny Freeman, “Chicago” Chuck Gullens, Fred Below, and Ringo Garza. When his older brother, Louie, began to get into music, Mike followed in his footsteps. He likes being the guy that holds down the rhythm in most of the songs, both when playing guitar and drums. Mike attends the same church youth group as the rest of the band. In his spare time Mike enjoys playing basketball. He is in ninth grade at McCormick Junior High.

“Cottonseed” Clark
Nic “Cottonseed” Clark is the band’s 15 year old harmonica player. One of the youngest harmonica players ever to be endorsed by Hohner Harmonicas, Nic is a great asset to the band. He is the only member of the group that does not live in Cheyenne. Hailing from Denver, CO, Nic’s dedication to both the band and the blues is substantial because of the distance he must travel to make it all work. He has been playing the blues harp for about three years, and has the skills to play like a man. Some of Nic’s influences are Gary Primich, Lynwood Slim, Sugar Ray Norcia, and of course, James Cotton. The last of these influences is where his nickname, “Cottonseed,” was coined. Nic is a freshman at Quest Star Academy in Denver.
